The newly remastered and expanded version of Ultimate Fakebook's Electric Kissing Parties is out now! This re-release includes rare never before-released demos and 6 live tracks!
In 1997, a trio from the unlikely city of Manhattan, Kansas ("The Little Apple" as it's known on the HBO series "Somebody Somewhere") called Ultimate Fakebook released their debut record. It quickly caught the attention of the CMJ New Music Report and earned the group a rave review in the weekly college radio mag and an invite to the Big Apple, for NYC's biggest festival of up-and-coming music.
Electric Kissing Parties shows singer/guitarist Bill McShane navigating some tricky turns—leaning into the pop tunesmith that had always been hidden under layers of loud guitar rock. The lyrics and melodies were equal parts angry and clever and sweet, and the rhythm section of bassist Nick Colby and new drummer Eric Melin (who replaced Mot Waldmann, a continued source of inspiration for the band) were solid as fuck. The remastered and expanded edition shows a band fully coming in to its own as a power-pop powerhouse.

What a great album. As if the ablum cover isn't cool enough, Chemical Shake is relevant, modern, while remaining distinctly Figgs.
Don't these guys ever sleep? I don't care, just keep it coming! James DayWalker
